The theory of turbulent photon filamentation in lasers with high Fresnelnumbers is presented. A survey of experimental observations of turbulentfilamentation is given. Theoretical description is based on the method ofeliminating field variables, which yields the pseudospin laser equations. Theseare treated by the scale separation approach, including the randomization oflocal fields and the method of stochastic averaging. The initial, as well asthe transient and final stages of radiation dynamics are carefully analysed. The characteristics of photon filaments are obtained by involving theprobabilistic approach to pattern selection.
